EP Newshub: a new web tool to help you follow Parliament's politics
All news published by European Parliament players can now be read in one place: the "EP Newshub", an online tool launched on Monday. It relays live all items published by MEPs, political groups, the President and the institution on their communication channels: websites, blogs, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube...
The EP Newshub, available to the general public from Monday 2 July, is a live web application intended to help citizens, journalists and stakeholders find their way through the enormous amount of content published by EP players.
It aggregates political, first-hand and up-to-date information without any editorial intervention. It is also an instant news service, displaying items from the past 5 days.
Different formats, different messages
The EP Newshub aggregates items from the following platforms:
YouTube, the video-sharing network
Flickr, the photo-sharing platform
Filters and featuresFilters and features include language choice boxes at the top of the page, a timeline, a search box, "favourite" filter settings and Newshub-specific RSS-feeds.
Users may also pick "most discussed" items, i.e. those that elicit the most reactions, or list the hot topics of the moment. They may also select information published by a certain group of MEPs only, such as members of a political group or from a given country (or both together).
