The European Charlemagne Youth Prize" aims to encourage the development of European consciousness among young people, as well as their participation in European integration projects. The Prize is awarded to projects undertaken by young people which foster understanding, promote the development of a shared sense of European identity, and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community. "The ECYP" is awarded jointly and annually by the European Parliament and the Foundation of the International Charlemagne Prize of Aachen.

Entry of Castleknock Community College
Congratulations to the winning schools in our Design a Flyer Competition: St. Joseph's Secondary School, Rush; St. Olivers Community School, Drogheda; Meán Scoil Mhuire, Newtownsmith, Galway and Coláiste Iosaef, Kilmallock, Co. Limerick. Owing to the exceptionally high standard of entries received in the competition this year the European Parliament is delighted to announce that an additional Euroscola will be awarded to Castleknock Community College to attend the Special Euroscola at the European Youth Event in May 2014.

Four young Europeans, Ana from Spain, Elena from Italy, Ilona from Poland and Larkin from Malta, will join EU leaders in Oslo on 10 December for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. They won the drawing and writing contest organised by the EU institutions, in partnership with the European Youth Forum, on the occasion of the award of the Nobel Peace prize to the European Union.

The opportunity to take part in the Nobel Prize ceremony in Oslo is up for grabs for four lucky young people aged 8 to 24, thanks to a competition launched by the European Union institutions. The four winners will be part of the official EU delegation, together with the presidents of the EP, the European Council and the European Commission and you can choose one of them by voting on Facebook. Deadline: midnight Sunday 2nd December.

The European Union has launched a drawing and writing contest for 8-24 years olds, with the four winners being invited to the 2012 Nobel Peace prize ceremony in Oslo. This contest is organised in partnership with the European Youth Forum. The four winners will be invited by the Presidents of the European Council, the European Commission and the European Parliament, to be part of the official delegation of the European Union that will travel to Oslo to receive this year's Peace Prize. Deadline for entries: 25 November, midnight CET.

The selection procedure for next year's European Charlemagne Youth Prize was launched on Thursday 11th October. The prize is awarded to young people who have been involved in projects to promote understanding between people from different European countries. Deadline: 28 January 2013.
