Euroscola

Euroscola - secondary school students from across Europe in the European Parliament

Irish secondary schools can apply to participate in Euroscola - a chance for students to spend a day in Strasbourg in the shoes of an MEP!  A group normally comprises 24 students (16-18 age group) accompanied by two teachers. A subsidy is paid towards travel costs.  The remaining funding is organised by the schools themselves. (One group of 14-16 year old students is invited annually to participate in a 'Junior' Euroscola event.)

Euroscola brings together 16 to 18 year old students from all 27 European Union Member States. Throughout the day, participants are encouraged to make full use of their knowledge of European languages other than their own to communicate with the other students.  The participating students get an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the workings of the European institutions, to discuss democracy and fundamental rights and to express their personal opinions on Europe.
