Pearse College, Dublin, visits the European Parliament
Students from Pearse College of Further Education in Crumlin visited the European Parliament offices today. As part of their Intensive European Language Skills course they take a European Studies Module. At the end of the one-year course students will be awarded a FETAC Level 5 Certificate in Language and European Studies.
Anne McEvoy gave an introduction to the European Parliament and how it works along with information on the 12 Irish MEPs and European elections. The group viewed a short film 'Ireland and the European Union' and a Questions and Answers session followed chaired by Mr Francis Jacobs, Head of the European Parliament Office in Ireland. Some very interesting questions were raised by the students and they hope to follow up their visit with a trip to the European Parliament in Brussels!
